The Yukon is home to more than 160,000 caribou, 70,000 moose, 22,000 mountain sheep, 6,000 grizzly bears and 220 species of birds… and 34,000 humans.
At 1000 miles long, the Yukon 1000 is the longest race of its kind in the world. The race route takes in some of the wildest and most remote paddling conceivable. The course starts in Whitehorse and heads north to the Alaska Pipeline/ Dalton Highway.
