Contest Rules and Regulations
How to Participate
1. Each time you visit a designated site offering a stamp, give your Passport to the employee at the site and they will affix the official stamp for that site in your passport. For designated sites with a posted number, record the number yourself in your Passport.

2. Drop off the official entry form from your Passport at any designated site offering a stamp or any Yukon Visitor Information Centre. If you have visited more than 10 of the 32 sites, you will receive a collectable pin.
3. The contest begins June 1, 2010 and ends at 8:00 p.m. (PST) on August 31, 2010. To be eligible for the draw prizes, entries must be submitted at a designated site offering a stamp or any Yukon Visitor Information Centre by 8:00 (PST) on August 31, 2010.
4. Limit of one Passport per person.
Eligibility
5. Employees of designated sites, members of the Boards of Directors for the societies and organizations managing or governing designated sites, employees of the Yukon Department of Tourism and Culture and its advertising agencies, the contest judges and members of their respective, immediate families living in the same household are not eligible to win. No purchase necessary.
Draw Prizes
6. Participants may enter for the following draws:
a) Participants who have their passport stamped (or where applicable, record the posted site number) at 20 or more designated sites are entered for a draw to win five (5) troy ounces of Klondike placer gold (“20 site draw”).
b) Participants who have their passport stamped (or where applicable, record the posted site number) at 10 or more designated sites are entered for a draw to win two (2) troy ounces of Klondike placer gold (“10 site draw”).
c) Participants who attend any of the following designated sites; Binet House Interpretive Centre, Campbell Region Interpretive Centre, John Tizya Centre, Keno City Mining Museum, may enter at each site one of three individual draws for one (1) troy ounce of gold (“individual on-site draws”).
d) Participants may enter the consolation prize draw without attending any designated sites and are eligible to win one of ten (10) consolation prizes each consisting of a Yukon souvenir (“consolation prize draw”).
7. The Yukon Department of Tourism and Culture reserves the right to offer a substitute for any prize, with an alternate prize that it deems, in its sole discretion is of equivalent value, if for any reason the original prize becomes unavailable. All prizes must be accepted as awarded. Limit of one prize per household.
Random Prize Draws
8. The 20 site draw shall be held by the contest judges on September 24th, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. (PST) at 100 Hanson Street, Whitehorse, from all eligible entrants who have visited twenty 20 designated sites featured in the Passport.
9. The 10 site draw shall be held by the contest judges on September 24th, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. (PST) at 100 Hanson Street, Whitehorse, from all eligible entrants who have visited at least 10 designated sites featured in the Passport.
10. The consolation prize draw shall be held by the contest judges on September 24th, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. (PST) at 100 Hanson Street, Whitehorse, from all eligible entries received. Visiting a designated site is not required to be eligible to win a consolation prize.
11. Before being declared a prize winner, each participant whose entry is drawn must:
a) correctly answer a skill-testing question; and,
b) sign and deliver a standard-form publicity release and waiver of liability; and,
c) acknowledge compliance with the contest rules and acceptance of the prize as awarded.
12. Minors whose entry is drawn must have their parent or legal guardian sign, on their behalf, the above-mentioned forms, before being declared a prize winner. U.S. residents will also be required to sign and deliver an IRS tax form prior to a prize being awarded and shall be responsible for all state and federal income taxes relating to the awarding of a prize. Failure to comply with any part of these rules shall result in disqualification of the drawn entry and the drawing of another entry.
13. The chance of winning a prize depends on the total number of eligible entries received in each category of prize draw.
General
14. Participants under the age of majority in the Yukon Territory (currently 19 years) must also have their parent or legal guardian sign and deliver a standard-form waiver of liability.
15. All entry forms become the sole property of the Yukon Department of Tourism and Culture. Participants whose entries are drawn will be notified by mail or telephone. The Yukon Department of Tourism and Culture shall not be responsible for lost, delayed, or misdirected entries or Passports. Passports and passport entry forms shall be void and rejected if not obtained through authorized channels or if tampered with in any way.
16. By entering the contest, entrants consent to the use of their name, city address and/or photographs in any related publicity, promotion and advertising carried out by the Yukon Department of Tourism and Culture, without compensation other than the value of the prize offered.
17. A complete list of winners will be available and provided to anyone requesting one by writing to “Yukon Gold Explorer’s Passport Contest,” P.O. Box 2703, Whitehorse, Yukon, Y1A 2C6, Canada, before January 31, 2011. All written requests for a list of winners must include a self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage. A complete list of winners will also be available before January 31, 2011 by emailing: museum.passport@gov.yk.ca
18. By entering this contest, participants agree and consent to the collection and use by the Yukon Department of Tourism and Culture of all information provided by participants for publicity and marketing purposes involving the Yukon Territory, Yukon events, Yukon attractions and other aspects of Yukon tourism and culture.
This contest is subject to federal, territorial, and municipal laws, may be subject to other laws and regulations, and is void where prohibited by law. All decisions of the contest judges regarding all aspects of the contest and the awarding of prizes are final.
