Yukon River Quest - World's longest canoe and kayak race

Annually in June

The longest annual canoe and kayak competition in the world takes place every June from Whitehorse to Dawson City.

Paddlers from across the globe battle the wild and each other in this 742 km race through history, tracing the same route as gold hungry prospectors of the 1890s.

Except for two mandatory rest stops, competitors are in constant race mode. Spectators, on the other hand, don't have to suffer to take in the same breathtaking Yukon scenery and wildlife.

With the race kicking off on the Whitehorse waterfront, follow the participants along the Yukon River and catch them again at the rest stop in Carmacks. The race then proceeds through Carmacks and further north to Dawson City where spectators can cheer weary competitors towards the finish line.
