Cathers Wilderness Adventures

Cathers Wilderness Adventures is a 2 generation family business offering year-round wilderness experiences.
Located on the shore of Lake Laberge, 50 km north of Whitehorse, there is no road to our wilderness homestead. Guests arrive by dog team, snow machine, boat or canoe, according to the season.
Our experience includes over 30 years of guiding and living year-round at this spectacular location and thousands of miles of travel in the Yukon wilderness - camping, guiding, sled dog racing, and hauling supplies to our home.
Our trips focus on small groups or individuals and are personally guided by our family. In winter, we welcome guests for dog sledding and outstanding views of the night sky, including northern lights when they are out. In summer, we offer cabin-based stays, where you can explore the beautiful region on guided day trips by foot, canoe, or boat. Or join us for a camping trip: hiking and backpacking with pack dogs, or canoe or boat camping on the historic Yukon River.

Ruby Range Adventure

Banner Photos:

Ruby Range Adventure has been guiding visitors to the Yukon and Alaska for many years. We bring unmatched experience and a genuine love of the North to every trip we lead. Our guides are qualified to lead you into the deepest wilderness and knowledgeable enough to explain the rich history of the communities that dot the landscape.

We are a Yukon-based wilderness tour-operator with ties to the region since our beginnings back in 1984. Since those early days we’ve grown into a successful eco-tourism company that supports the region we work and live in, while bringing more and more visitors every year to an area we are proud to call our home.

The environment is what our livelihood is based on, so we work to protect the very special balance between Man and Nature, while providing you with a true northern natural experience. Because we limit the size of our groups, we are able to guarantee exclusive, one-of-a-kind experiences that will stay with you t

Discovery Claim National Historic Site

Banner Photos:

Discovery Claim National Historic Site is where gold was discovered in 1896, triggering the Klondike Goldrush. It is a legally defined mining claim measuring 500 by 2000 feet located on Bonanza Creek, a tributary of the Klondike River near Dawson City, Yukon. The site is in a deep valley which has been mined heavily since the discovery, first by hand then with mechanized equipment.

The discovery story’s details vary, but it is generally held that Keish / Skookum Jim Mason, of the Tagish First Nation, discovered the gold. Soon after the discovery, every creek and hillside in the Klondike was being worked.

Explore the 1.5-km/1-mile interpretive trail with the site guide, the
Explora app, or the Xplorer kid's booklet. See if you can find the
Geocache. Bonjour! For more information, call 867-993-7200,
