Annual Crane and Sheep Festival
"Each spring Sandhill Cranes fly back to their nesting grounds in the northern regions of North America and north eastern Siberia. They use the thermals over Faro as their elevator to gain altitude. In their migration flights, the Sandhill Crane will fly in long lines or in Vs. They make a loud garoo-oo-a-a-a type of call when they fly which can be heard more than 1.6 km (1 mile) away. This means it is likely you will hear them long before you actual see them in flight.
You will also witness nature’s most amazing sight, the Fannin sheep coming out with their young ones. Fannin sheep can only be found around Faro, Yukon Territory.
You can witness all this and enjoy a wonderful weekend full of fun, activities, free barbeques, presentations, wildlife viewing and more by participating in our Annual Crane and Sheep Festival scheduled from May 2-4, 2014. "
