Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre

The Klondike Gold Rush brought many a miner and fortune-seeker to the Yukon. Not long after the first miners arrived, stories of giant beasts unearthed during the quest for gold began to spread. To this day, with the help of local miners and First Nations, more treasures of the Yukon’s distant past are being recovered every year. These remains and artifacts tell a story of a world quite unlike the Yukon you see today.

    Can I Mush

    Banner Photos:

We provide athletics and private dog-sledding tours. With a maximum of two participants at a time, we ensure exclusive experiences.

You drive your own dog team on bush trails meandering the boreal forest. You may have to push (run) uphill and keep your balance downhill while braking with one of your feet. This is not for the arm-chair musher travellers but more for the adventure spirited persons.

We believe in engaging dog-sledding experiences that are built on trust and respect between Musher and Dog. Be aware dog-mushing is addictive!

Yukon Heritage

A legacy of significant history

The Yukon may be famous for its gold rush history and diverse First Nations cultures, but there are countless stories that weave the tapestry of our heritage.

Mammoths to Mounties

Woolly mammoths and scimitar cats once roamed this region known as Beringia. Transportation was crucial to the growth of contemporary Yukon: the White Pass & Yukon Route railway, aviation, and the construction of the Alaska Highway. The story of the Canadian Mountie is rooted in the Yukon, and the territory also has a lesser known but just as colourful silver mining history.

Colourful northern characters

The most authentic, memorable part of Yukon’s heritage isn’t found in a museum. You’re sure to come across an array of fascinating, larger-than-life personalities and colourful characters.
