Heritage-and-Culture

Heritage & Culture

Canada's Yukon may be home to twice as many moose than people, but the 35,000 enterprising and creative folks who live here are exceptionally talented. Yukoners celebrate a varied history and a dynamic arts culture, and our vast northern landscapes figure prominently in art and stories. From festivals to galleries to dozens of museums, historic sites, and interpretive and cultural centres, Yukon’s story is brought to life for visitors in so many ways.

Dawson City International Short Film Festival

Among the most northern competitive film festivals in the world, the Dawson City International Short Film Festival opens its arms to a migration of film lovers for a four-day celebration of short film.

The festival presents films of all genres from around the world as well as those made in the Yukon. Special events such as panel discussions, meet and greets, workshops, and awards.
