Since 1995, Cedar and Canvas Adventures has been delivering Yukon wilderness vacations that focus on the natural cycles and habits of wildlife and flora. From the awakening of bears in early May to the burst of alpine flowers in July to the moose rut and Aurora Borealis of late September, we optimize your wildlife viewing opportunities by understanding and following these natural patterns.

River trips run 6 to 16 days, utilizing paddle and/or freighter canoes of the vintage wood-and-canvas Chestnut designs. Choose from five northern rivers – Yukon, Teslin, Big Salmon, Pelly and Wind. Enjoy comfortable camps, light to moderate hiking opportunities and campfire meals that are superb!

Our alpine treks up to 2000 meters (7000’) are 5 to 6 days in length with lots of wild flowers and wild sheep! Fishing/camping vacations include lake trout, northern pike and Arctic grayling.

With a combined 57 years of living in the North, Clayton and Nansi are steeped and well-seasoned in the ways of wilderness travel and wildlife interpretation. Our goal is to provide you a first class wilderness experience.

Should you have limited time, we can take you on day hikes around Whitehorse or bird watching at a nearby marsh. In the shoulder season and during winter we offer a variety of nature encounter tours.
