The George Johnston Museum is open 1 June to end of day Labour Day, seven days a week, 9am-5pm.
Visit the George Johnston Museum where you'll see rare Tlingit First Nation cultural artefacts, brilliant ceremonial clothing, a professional film made by a local producer and world-class dioramas. And, of course, George Johnston's original car, which has been completely restored.
You will also see our original air-radio building and tower, which was in use during WWII. It's purpose was ground to air communication, when planes were flown over the Northwest Staging Route from the USA to Russia.
Our staff are happy to answer questions and discuss the exhibits and particular objects with you.
At the end of your visit, peruse our gift shop where you'll find artwork by local artists and artisans, as well as products featuring other first nation art. We offer a little bit of everything in the gift shop!
Easy access off the highway; a picnic area; photographs allowed; big parking lot for RVs; easy pull-through exit back to the highway; suitable for all ages; washroom on site for visitors.
