Rustic, off-the-grid northern lights retreat? Yes, please.
For guests looking for a rustic, off-grid Northern Lights experience, Fox Bay Retreat is a great option. Located on Lake Laberge just an hour from Whitehorse, the Retreat has four cabins that can accommodate 2 to 4 guests. All the cabins have a propane stove for cooking, fridge and lights, while a wood or oil stove keeps things cozy. Showers and flushing toilets (accessible to all cabins) are available in the washing station.
There is also a main lodge suitable for groups, with three bedrooms, plus a full bathroom and generator powered electricity.
The Retreat is accessible year-round via the North Klondike Highway, with transfers to and from Whitehorse included. In summer, guests can opt for a 3 to 4 hour boat transfer from Whitehorse. The brand new comfortable boat can accommodate 6 guests with luggage.
Cabins can be booked on their own, or with a full package that includes meals and activities such as snowshoeing, ice fishing, snowmobiling and dogsledding tours right from the Retreat.
The cabins can also be booked through Northern Tales packages.
