Don't forget to include 'relax & unwind' on your Yukon itinerary
Relax and Restore
Come to Canada’s north and take a breath of air that’s so fresh it still has that new air smell. Start with a lungful of that and then fill your other senses. Connect body and soul with a land and water that’s as pure as it ever was, with ancient traditions that have never gone out of fashion and spectacular natural wonders that will forever change you. In the summer, you’ll have the time you need to renew and restore under the midnight sun. And in winter, we’ll lift your spirits with the soaring northern lights. All year long, we invite you to come fully alive in the Yukon.

Whether you’re looking to indulge in spa treatments, connect with nature or just unplug for a few days, the Southern Lakes region is a perfect wellness destination. Settle into the artsy vibe of Tagish, or connect with Carcross’ centuries-deep First Nations roots. Marsh Lake offers a laid-back vacation pace paired with sandy beaches and a relatively warm, swimmable lake. Explore in and around these tiny communities and you’ll find a place of your own to relax and re-charge. Join an interpretive walk with your sketch pad and learn about medicinal wild herbs, edible native plants and berries. Or take a seat at a communal table to enjoy a nourishing feast inspired by the land and water. Whatever enriching experience you’re looking for, the Southern Lakes can feed your mind, body and soul.

Your aches and pains are in good hands in the Yukon. Find therapists practicing massage, reiki, healing touch, aromatherapy and more in the larger centres of Whitehorse and Dawson City. Or head out of the “big cities” and find the relaxation you crave at a nature resort. Some offer drop-in services ranging from hot stone, dry brush and aromatherapy massages to Finnish saunas and infrared cabins. Others extend the full wellness experience by combining massage packages and accommodations, with enough natural peace and quiet thrown in to loosen even the knottiest muscles.

People naturally turn to the wilderness for self-reflection and renewal. In the Yukon, wilderness workshops on photography, painting and writing, have actual wilderness to draw inspiration from. Retreats range from yoga and mountain biking to music and meditation, with many combining wellness practice with outdoor recreation. Just step outside and immerse yourself in pristine nature, or sink into the therapeutic waters of a hot spring. Indulge in a lakeside bodywork session or be uplifted on a mountaintop interpretive nature walk. Whatever you choose, carve out time in your Yukon vacation to find personal wellness in the wild.
