Whitehorse is an epicenter for Yukon artists with galleries galore. Check out individual artist galleries or major galleries with eclectic selections from local talent. Many can be found on Main Street along with many local shops, now open. While you're downtown, take in exhibits at the MacBride Museum of Yukon History, or visit the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre in Whitehorse. Both offer a glimpse of the territory's vibrant culture and unique heritage.

Introduce the kids to the wild side of the Yukon at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, just north of Whitehorse. Take the 5-km loop around the preserve that passes by enclosures filled with wild moose, elk, mountain goats, muskox, wood bison, thinhorn sheep and more.

The S.S. Klondike pays tribute to an era of riverboat transportation and the inland water transportation system that linked the Yukon to the outside world before the advent of roads. The inside of the boat is closed to visitors currently, but the outside is still a site to behold for all ages.

The Millennium Trail is a local favorite for hikers of all skill levels. It starts at the site of the S.S. Klondike and continues along the Yukon. Wildflowers and raspberries are ripe for the picking in the summer months, and Take to the air for flightseeingthe other sites along the way are also pretty sweet.

You haven’t seen Whitehorse till you’ve seen it from the sky. Alpine Aviation is the way to go if you want to get a bird’s eye view of the city’s surrounding landscapes and wildlife—if you’re lucky.

World-class wilderness is yours for the exploring at Chadburn Lake Park. It’s the largest of its kind in a Canadian municipality. For all you British Columbians out there, it’s 18 times larger than Vancouver’s Stanley Park, and it’s wide open to you.
